Mrs. Heather Nix brings a wealth of educational experience and proven leadership to her role as Chief Academic Officer. A dedicated educator with a passion for student success, Mrs. Nix has spent her entire career serving the students, families, and educators of Calhoun County and the surrounding communities. As Chief Academic Officer, Mrs. Nix leads all aspects of curriculum, instruction, accountability, and accreditation.  

For the past eight years, Mrs. Nix has served as principal of both Calhoun City Elementary School and Calhoun City High School, where she has led efforts to promote academic excellence, strengthen school culture, and support the success of all students. Prior to her work as a principal, she served as a lead teacher, classroom teacher, and coach at Bruce High School. Mrs. Nix began her educational career as an assistant teacher in the Calhoun County School District, gaining valuable experience that helped shape her student-centered approach to leadership.

Mrs. Nix earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Blue Mountain and her Master’s Degree from Arkansas State University. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to fostering high expectations, supporting teachers, and creating learning environments where every student has the opportunity to thrive.

Mrs. Nix and her husband, Chris, reside in Pittsboro. They are the proud parents of two sons and grandparents to two grandchildren. Her commitment to family, education, and community service continues to guide her leadership as she works to support academic achievement and educational opportunities for all students.
