Dr. Tim Cook

Dr. Timothy M. Cook was born in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and is a 1996 graduate of Warren
Central High School. He began his educational journey at Hinds Community College, where he
earned an Associate of Arts degree in Secondary Education. He then completed a Bachelor of
Science degree in Special Education at Mississippi State University. Dr. Cook went on to earn
both his Master of Science and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Educational Administration and
Supervision from Jackson State University.
Dr. Cook is the seventh of nine children, a background he credits for shaping his work ethic,
resilience, and commitment to serving others. Growing up in a large family taught him the value
of collaboration, responsibility, and keeping students and people at the center of every decision.
Dr. Cook has served Mississippi schools for more than two decades in multiple leadership roles,
including teacher, department chair, assistant principal, principal, and assistant superintendent.
He also serves as the Mayor of Vardaman, reflecting his deep dedication to public service and
community leadership.
In addition to his educational and civic roles, Dr. Cook has served for 13 years as the pastor of
Taylor Church of God of Prophecy in Vardaman, Mississippi. His pastoral service reflects his
heart for people, humility in leadership, and unwavering desire to strengthen and uplift his
community.
He has been married for 21 years to Jessica Diane Cook of Cleveland, Mississippi. They have
two children: Colbie Faith Cook, a seventh grader at Vardaman Attendance Center, and Timothy
Jakob Cook, a 2025 graduate of Vardaman Attendance Center who is currently a college
freshman pursuing engineering. Jakob was the first and only student in Calhoun County School
District to earn a SolidWorks certification while in high school.
Outside of work, Dr. Cook enjoys reading, studying Scripture, and playing games with his
children. He is known for his calm leadership style, integrity, sense of humor, and a deep passion
for helping students and educators reach their full potential.
As Superintendent of Calhoun County School District, Dr. Cook is committed to Vision 2031,
focusing on rigorous and consistent Tier I instruction, student-centered decision-making, strong
safety practices, transparent communication, and building a unified district culture rooted in
excellence for all.
